Hotel reservation FAQ

Do I need a credit card to make a reservation?
Yes, the service provider/hotel will confirm a reservation only when you provide your credit card details to guarantee your booking. Please, note: Our Reservation Service is free of charge, so all your credit card details are going directly to the hotel and you will pay only for accommodation. [top]

Is it safe to use my credit card?
Yes. Our Reservation System takes this matter very seriously. To ensure your security, we utilizes Thawte's secure commerce server which encrypts the credit card number and encodes it into a non-usable form. [top]

When do I have to include my credit card number?
You will be required to submit a credit card number at the time of booking. The majority of the hotels will not hold rooms without a credit card number. Your credit card will not be charged until you check out of the hotel unless the type of room you selected states that a deposit is required or some others restrictions. We recommend using a credit card to guarantee your reservation. [top]

What is your privacy policy?
We do not share your personal data collected through our server with anybody. All data submitted is kept confidential. [top]

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation policy depends on every hotel. Before making reservation you will be provided information about cancellation policy. These policies will vary, so you must read each one carefully. If you cancel reservation without breaking the cancellation policy, generally you will not be charged a penalty. Canceling after the period limited for cancellation may result in a cancellation penalty fee that will be charged from your credit card. [top]

What info do you need about me and why?
In order to process your hotel reservation we need simple things such as your name, e-mail and real world address. The reasons for this are clear: we have to give the hotel a name under which to book your room. As in every other type of transaction, you have to supply us with the name, number and expiry date of the credit card with which the payment will be made. [top]

Are taxes included in the rate?
Taxes and miscellaneous charges are NOT included in the room rate, if the other is not specified. The tax rate at the hotel is listed in the hotel description. [top]

Is the room rate per person or per night?
The quoted room rate is per room per night. The rate will reflect the number of persons you entered on the Search Form. It is for one person if you selected one person and it's for two people if you selected two people. [top]

I should receive a discounted rate. How do I get this?
The rates displayed are the only rates available to out Travel Reservation System. These rates may include government, corporate or senior discounts. If a rate is marked "ID REQ," (for example, "AAA Rate") you may need special documentation at check-in to confirm you are qualified to receive that rate. [top]

When and where payment for my accommodation is required?
Payment for your hotel stay will be handled by the hotel directly upon checkout with this or another credit card of your choice, if the other is not specified. [top]

Can I make a reservation directly through a hotel?
Yes, but the prices displayed are only available through our website. If you make a reservation direct with the hotel, you will be charged on average 20% to 60% more. [top]

I need the hotel located downtown (near airport), how can I find such hotel?
Please use our Hotel Search Form and do not forget to check the hotel location you need in the hotel search criteria. [top]

Can I specify where I would like my room located (preferred floor, next to pool, etc.)?
The hotel staff will do their best to accommodate special requests. We cannot guarantee room location because it is subject to availability. After booking the room via our reservation system you should call the hotel directly to request additional preferences. [top]

What is the reservation procedure?
All reservation requests will result in a new screen showing an Confirmation Number which should be kept and used with any future correspondence with Travel Reservation System. Some hotels do not confirm reservations immediately - the reservation status will be ON-REQUEST. In this case, the email you receive from 1st-berlin-hotels.com Reservation System will not contain a confirmation number. To check the status of your reservation you should go to your Profile/Itinerary. [top]

Could't you send me the hotel phone/fax number?
You receive the hotel phone/fax number ONLY with your booking confirmation. We can't provide you this information before you book the room. [top]

I need more information about hotel. Couldn't you send me more information, graphic materials or any brochures?
No, unfortunately we can't send any more information about hotel amenities/facilities. All information about the hotels, you can get from our web-sites. [top]

Is there a hotel shuttle service to/from the airport?
Many hotels offer shuttle service to and from the airport. This may be listed in the Info section of the hotel listing. There may be a charge by the hotel for this service. So, you should contact the hotel to ask about it after completing your reservation. [top]

Are rollaway beds/cribs available?
Most hotels offer rollaway beds and cribs (typically at additional charge). Some hotels have restrictions on what room types will allow rollaway beds. This may be listed in the Info section of the hotel description. You can request these items by calling the hotel after completing your reservation process. [top]

Our children will be with us... do they stay free?
Usually children under 12 years of age stay for free in their parent's room using the existing bedding. The age requirement differs depending on the hotel's policy. This may be listed in the Info section of the hotel description. [top]

What if there will be more than two adults in the room?
Most hotels allow additional adults to stay in the rooms, at aadditional charge. Some hotels have a limit on how many people can stay in a room. This may be listed in the Info section of the hotel description. [top]

What do I do if I am not happy with my hotel room when I arrive?
1st-berlin-hotels.com is an online hotel reservations agent. We make every effort to ensure that the hotel descriptions and information that we feature on our site are as accurate as possible. Our write-ups are based on material supplied by the hotels themselves. We are not responsible for any variance, whether perceived or actual, between the write-up and the conditions you find in a hotel.
Please notify us if you feel that any of our hotel write-ups are inaccurate or need to be updated - we will be happy to consider your suggestions. Any issues of dissatisfaction should be addressed directly to the hotel's management. [top]

How to cancel or check status of my reservation?
To cancel your reservation or check it's status please go to the section view/cancel reservation (my profile) enter your last name and e-mail you used at reservation. You will see the list of your reservations, their status and will be able to cancel the reservation if necessary. Be aware about cancellation policy - the fee would be charged from your credit card for late cancellation. [top]
