2006-08-04 The first August weekend in Berlin is a tome when International Berlin Beer Festival comes to the city. It gathers more than 240 breweries from 80 countries. 1,750 different brands of beer are represented. The Berlin “beer mile” is directly located in the city centre and 2.2 km long. This “longest beer garden of the world” reaches from Frankfurter Tor to Strausberger Platz stretching along Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin Friedrichshain. This unique annual beer show has been taking place since 1997 and has been attracting hundreds of thousands of national and international guests since then. Each year another beer region is in the centre of attention. This year for the first time there will be a brewery procession when a variety of historical brewery vehicles can be admired in the city. The 10th International Berlin Beer Festival takes place from August 4th – 6th, 2006.
