2007-08-19 If you are fond of skating and are fit enough to take part in
serious competitions, we advise you to join the Xrace, which is organised in
Berlin August 19th. The event is a part of the German Jever Blade
Challenge marathon, during which hundreds of professional and amateur skaters
will compete to win the prizes. On the day the centre of the city will be turned
into a traffic-free territory. This year the route of the race, Rund um die
Goldelse, is 4.2 km long and starts at the S-Bahnhof Tiergarten. Depending on
what kind of skater you are, you can choose one of the marathons to participate
in: an elite marathon, an elite half-marathon or one of the two open
half-marathons. If you don’t want to be confined with time limits, you are
advised to take part in the open races. The first race starts at 3 pm,
participation is chargeable.
