The International Dance Festival in Berlin is probably one of the most innovative and interesting festivals of the kind. It takes place August 17^th – September 1^st 2007 at various venues all around the city and welcomes visitors with various dance performances, workshops and other kinds of events. There are two main themes, two principal currents highlighted at the festival this year. The first is a more traditional and formal one, represented with works by Xavier Le Roy, Yvonne Rainer, Jonathan Burrows, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker with her company Rosas and some other choreographers. The other current deals with classic topics from a contemporary point. It is represented with performances by Jean-Claude Gallotta, Gisèle Vienne and Olga Pona. To see the performances, you can visit one of the following venues: Hebbel am Ufer, Podewils’sches Palais, Ballhaus Naunyn, HALLE, Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Tanzfabrik Berlin and others.
