2007-08-29 Summer is coming to an end and Kreuzberg, one of
Berlin’s neighbourhoods, shall see it off in a worthy manner. For two weeks
until September 9th you are invited to take part
in various events, from sports to music, organised at the district. The
programme is really varied: music performances, book and picture market,
brilliant fireworks, health and environment market, summer sale of art, various
activities for children and their parents, football and chess tournaments and
more. Activities take place at Kreuzberg's Viktoriapark and are all absolutely
free. Kreuzberg district in Berlin is a
mixture of old apartments, modern erections and the city’s Turkish
neighbourhood. In 1970s and 1980s it became popular for its excellent cultural
and political activities. A visit to the district, especially during such a fun
season, is worth it.
