2007-09-12 Organised twice a year, Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin is
aimed to provide dialogue between Germany and countries of the Asia-Pacific
Region in such spheres as policy, economy, culture and science. The event is the
initiative of the Governing Mayor of Berlin and takes place September 10 – 23.
This year the event’s motto is “Asia-Pacific: Changing the World”. One of its
principle parts is the Business and Science Programme, with several conferences
organised to discuss such topics as urban sustainability, multilateral economic
cooperation and creative industries. There is also a number of other events
organised to help visitors gain information on the region’s economy, culture and
society, like exhibitions on arts of each country, dance performances, meetings
and discussions. Activities take place at various venues around the city,
including Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berliner Rathaus and many others.
