2007-09-12 The exhibition “Every Day Special. Youth in Neukölln” is an
excellent opportunity to explore the life of the youth of Berlin. Some time ago
Ethnological Museum organised a project, thanks to which school students (aged
8) from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Berlin-Neukölln could get familiar
with the process of exhibition organizing and use this new knowledge to present
their own life to the public. The result of their work can be observed at the
Ethnological Museum in Dahlem, till 15 October 2007. The exhibition is an
overview of children’s everyday life, including their school activities, family
life, religious traditions, their free time and entertainment. Among the
exhibits there are also works by photographer Thomas Bruns, who took photographs
of the 14- and 15-year-olds, and some objects traditionally associated with
childhood, youth and adulthood.
