2006-08-04 From the ancient times people tried to decorate their body – some painted themselves in a strange way, some put jewelry in the strangest parts of their bodies. Nowadays this entertainment has achieved a status of art - tattoos, cuts, piercings and a metamorphosis of the skin into material to carry cannulas and needles are the means of expression one’s attitude. From 4th August, the Künstlerhaus offers an exhibition SIGNS & SURFACES – where displayed photographs by Andreas Fux, Ali Kepenek and Herbert Hoffmann showing piercings and self-injury in their most radical form. "Signs & Surfaces", Studio 1, is open from 4th to 20th August 2006, Wed - Sub, 2 - 7 pm. The curator of this exhibition is Christoph Tannert.
