2007-10-11 This exhibition at the Hamburger Bahnhof Rieck Halls demonstrates
works by Swiss artist Roman Signer. The artist works in rather an unusual way:
he takes common objects like tables, barrels, balloons, bicycles or kajaks, and
carries out experiments on them, by arranging these objects in a carefully
thought-out way so that they brought some aesthetic results. The results of his
“experiments” are various acts like explosions, collisions etc. Those are
depicted in his videos, drawings, photographs, Super 8 films and installations,
which you can see at the exhibition. One of its highlights is his renowned
installation of an artificial volcano, which visitors could observe at the
Wörlitz park in the summer of 2007. This exhibition is available until 27
January 2008. The other exhibition currently opened at the Rieck Halls shows
works from the Friedrich Christian Flick Collection.
