2006-08-05 Berlin is one of the most cities of the world. Every year there Hemp Parade is organized. Hemp Parade organisers affirm that the purpose of the parade is beyond that of a mass pro-drugs rally. Instead they are calling for widespread education about "correct" cannabis use and greater personal freedom - as a basis for the drug's legalisation. Marx-Engels-Forum offers all manner of cannabis-related information as well as a range of hemp products (from trousers to ice cream), for those eager to support the cause without breaking the law. A "speakers corner" provides a forum for those against, as well as for, the drugs legalisation. Beginning in the district of Kreuzberg and ending in Mitte, the 25 parade cars pass the government and parliament headquarters, where pro-cannabis campaigners give talks. This year the action takes place on 5th August.
