2006-08-11 Every summer Berlin hosts 9-day long Flamenco Festival (this year 11-19 August 2006) where the most talented international dancers and musicians present their art. The event takes place in Pfefferberg, in the middle of Berlin's buzzing Prenzlauer Berg district. Pfefferberg is located in the arty Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg. In spite of its increasingly upmarket character and the chic media crowds who dominate the area, you can still find some great cafés. Programme offers pure flamenco, but with some other influences, which only enrich this dance. Those, who like not only to watch, but to participate, can visit workshops and learn from renowned flamenco artists. Yasaray Rodríguez, Fuensanta „La Moneta “, José Carrillo „Fyty “, Miguel Vargas and the family Fernández are only some the beads in the program.
