This year the event takes place on 26th of August from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Over 100 of Berlin's museums participate in this action. “Long Night of Museums “ covers the city on its largest scale - on almost 400 square kilometres – between Glienicke Palace, the Museum at the Waterplant Friedrichshagen and the Museum of Local History Reinickendorf. Special buses will ply from one destination to the next. There will be 12 different routes connecting participating museums, galleries and exhibition spaces, with the City Hall. Tickets to the event give access to all the galleries and transport. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, various institutions offer concerts, readings, dance and theatre shows, special tours and "exotic menus" to see visitors through to the early hours.
