The Internationales Stadionfest (ISTAF) is an important annual athletics meet at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany. This year it will take place at 10am on 3 September. THe event will begin with the Berlin school relays. The Stadionfest will start with a colourful programme for the whole family at 11, the competitions start at noon. The ISTAF meeting is a part of the Golden League series, attracting the very best athletes in the world. A format of the Golden League was created in 1998 with the aim of providing a platform for the leading athletes to meet on a regular basis. Athletics is one of the most popular kind of sports nowadays and sport fans want to see their favorites as often as possible. Athletes, in their turn, want to win more competitions and to gain more prizes. 20kg of gold bars to anyone winning all seven of their Golden League events also matters.
