2006-09-13 13 September 2006 The Jewish Museum in Berlin celebrates its 5th Birthday. In the honor of this event the museum organizes a varied program of tours, a children's rally, a T-shirt workshop, live music in the garden, a slice of birthday cake, interviews with eyewitnesses, and a look on the back of paintings. At 3 pm and 6 pm all kids are invited to excursion through the permanent exhibition. At 1 and 4 pm visitors will be able to watch multimedia presentations of stories at the Rafael Roth Learning Center. At 12 pm and 4pm Inka Bertz, collections director, and Barbara Decker, painting restorer will show to the public what is behind the back of a painting. At 3 pm scientific adviser Sabine Kussling will explain how does an object make it into the exhibition. At 5 pm Leonore Maier, archivist, will talk to Max Werner Finkelstein about culture shock experienced by immigrants in Bolivia, adventurous jobs in the jungle, and his time as editor of a newspaper for immigrants in Buenos Aires.
