2006-09-23 Berlin pays a lot of attention to the modern art. There are a lot of art galleries, permanent and temporally exhibitions. Photography is one of the fast-developing and the most contemporary kinds of art. Berlin Photography Festival offers different exhibitions across Germany's capital. They are based around a central eight-week show at the city's Martin-Gropius-Bau. The event runs under the theme After the Fact and aims to explore emerging new forms of documentary and narrative practice in photography at a time when digital technology is changing the medium rapidly. The show is curated by Jan-Erik Lundström, director of the Swedish visual art museum BildMuseet. There are exhibited works of around 30 photographers. Festival is accompanied by lectures, artist-talks, discussions and workshops, as well as film screenings. This year the festival takes place for the second time. It begins 23 September 2006 and will last till the middle of November.
