2006-10-02 Lied is a very beautiful music genre and it has a lot of fans in
Germany. In 2004 the first Lied Forum was organized in Berlin. This year
representatives from six German music academies and Professor Axel Bauni again
gather teachers and students from five European partner schools from October 2nd
to 8th 2006. The theme of this meeting will be related to the interpretation of
European art songs. There will be two opening concerts presenting national
repertoires from the participating schools. Workshops devoted to teaching these
repertoires will be held on the following four days. The results will be
performed in the final concert. Among teachers taking part in the forum are Anne
Le Bozec, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris,
France, Christine Whittlesey, Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz,
Austria, Ilmo Ranta, Sibelius Academy Helsinki, Finland, Peteris Plakidis,
Latvian Academy of Music ″Jazeps Vitols″ Riga, Latvia, Michal Dussek, Royal
Academy of Music London, United Kingdom and the above-mentioned Axel Bauni,
Universität der Künste Berlin, Germany.
