In contemporary world the stream of information is so intense, that sometimes even the most powerful persons of the world need expert help. The Berlin Conference on Expertise in Context held July 26-28, 2006 become the platform to discuss the embeddedness of expertise. During this conference the following questions will be discussed - Communication between experts and laypersons, Competence, Domain-specific expertise, Eliciting and Representing the Knowledge of Experts, Expertise and memory, Expertise in Professional Learning and Development Finance, Leadership in Context, Networked expertise, Professionalization, Professions, expertise and knowledge in ICT contexts, Research on Inventors. This year Hans Sauer Foundation will present the Hans Sauer Award for the first time. In 2006 the prize will have a value of 5000 euro for the topic Research on Inventors.
